Best of Times Features Pat Samples in Two Articles on Creativity and Aging
“No matter what her age, Pat Samples will never be old.” This quote leads off one of two articles that highlight the work and the beliefs of Pat Samples in the current issue of the Twin Cities publication Best of Times, a tabloid serving older adults.
The article “Putting Old on Hold” by Susan Gower says Pat has “championed positive personal transformation for older adults” for the past 17 years, and it describes her work at the helm of the Minnesota Creative Arts and Aging Network (MnCAAN). Her memoir writing classes in senior living sites is also discussed. Pat is quoted as saying, “The arts are a great way to find meanng and purpose in your life and to make a contribution to the community in an artistically interesting way. People who participate in the arts tend to be vibrant and full of life.”
Another article, titled “Finding Your Inner Artist,” also talks about Pat’s leadership of MnCAAN and her views on creativity and aging.
Best of Times is a free publication that can be found at area groceries, libraries, senior centers, and other locations.
